Ticketer is delighted to announce that Lancashire County Council has commenced a county-wide rollout of operator ticketing technology to the Ticketer TK300 electronic ticket machine and Ticketer Tap Off Reader (TOR).
This deployment signifies a major investment in modernising ticketing infrastructure across the county’s bus network, and underpins Lancashire CC’s continued commitment to modern, optimised, and passenger-focused public transport.
Supporting better bus services across Lancashire
Implementation of the TK300 will begin on board Archway Travel, Transpora Buses, Holmeswood Coaches, Pilkington Bus, Moving People and Travel Assist from July 2026, with completion of all ETM and TOR installs within regional operators planned for August.
The rollout will provide Lancashire’s entire bus network with access to Ticketer’s next-generation ticketing and Tap On / Tap Off technology, designed to support faster, more flexible and more connected ticketing for operators, authorities and passengers alike.
Building on a trusted partnership
A valued Ticketer customer since 2018, this upgrade reflects Lancashire County Council’s continued focus on ensuring public transport in the regions is efficient, attractive, and accessible to all, whilst reflecting their continued trust in Ticketer’s solutions.

Ian Barratt, Principal Transport Officer at Lancashire County Council, says:
“Lancashire County Council, together with our bus operator partners, continues to build on the success of the Tap On / Tap Off system introduced in 2025. By combining TOTO with the new TK300, we can make travel easier for customers and give people more options for completing their journeys.
“The enhanced technology will also help speed up boarding, with quicker read times for QR codes and ITSO cards, supporting a better overall customer experience.”
Adam Toone, Chief Operating Officer at Ticketer, adds:
“We’re delighted to further build upon our partnership with Lancashire County Council, as they strengthen regional bus services by upgrading to the Ticketer TK300.
“The TK300 will provide a more modern, scalable, and responsive platform to better support day-to-day service delivery, create operational efficiencies, and improve the passenger experience. We look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have in the region.”
