As part of our wider Covid-19 innovations, we have been heavily focused on urgently developing an accurate, immediate, bus by bus capacity reporting mechanism, for enhanced operational efficiency, and passenger safety.
This will allow drivers to keep track of the current occupancy on their bus, against the social distanced capacity, drawing their attention to the loading against thresholds operators can set, on a vehicle by vehicle basis, via the Ticketer Portal.
Field trials have proved successful and we’ve received positive feedback from drivers so we are now able to roll this out further.
The functionality will be available on the TK200, our later model, and we have focused on the ETM functionality as the most critical element, providing the drivers with key information, with supporting functionality on the Ticketer Portal. For the first phase of this work, there is no back-office reporting, and we are looking at the options to add further improvements to this in the coming weeks.
